Duckman, a kind of comedy horror film, features a duck who is trapped in a man's body, which is pretty bizarre, I have to admit. But it's also vaguely about gender identity issues - about someone wanting to be something that they aren't, something that nature didn't make them.
This allusion to gender identity issues is purely incidental, and unintentional. It only recently occurred to me that there might be similarities between these issues and Duckman. I don't have any personal experiences of these issues and don't know anyone that does have, because of this lack of knowledge I don't plan to make it the theme of the film.
The trailer teaser video clip for Duckman below is technically an experiment in some ways. I experimented by introducing the idea of the film before I introduced the title. Also, I experimented by not using a sound track or background music.
The video clip below the clip is also an experiment, there's an article on my Effects Films film making blog which is called Film making techniques: dubbing experiment that explains the reasoning behind the experiment.
This scene might also have similarities with gender identity issues. The woman is criticising Duckman because he wants to be a duck.
But she could also be criticising him for wanting to change his gender, for example.
